About us

General information

The Association «Rural and Eco Tourism» is a non-profit organization created in November 2002. It has about 250 members, primarily rural residents willing to pursue rural tourism opportunities.

The Association «Rural and Eco Tourism» is one of the few public organizations which are involved with the rural population to boost their economic and social activity.

Since its inception, the organization has been able to bring together rural tourism enthusiasts. We keep in touch with our members and have surveyed the available facilities (size of the farmstead, number of rooms, availability of modern conveniences, livestock, places of interest, etc). Most have received advice as to how to branch out into a new area of activity.

The organization is pursuing a wide-ranging publicity campaign to raise popular awareness of rural tourism and the economic and social advantages it brings. To this end, more than 40 articles and interviews have been published. The organization has also commissioned TV programs featuring rural residents engaged in rural tourism and conducted meetings with officials from the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and parliamentarians. It has also sent letters to local authorities of all regions of Belarus asking them to render assistance to future farmstead owners.

The organization is funded by membership dues, grants and donor donations.

The creation of the Association «Rural and Eco Tourism» was initiated by the people possessing significant experience in this field. Most of its founders were engaged in rural tourism as travel agents and managers at Dudutki outdoor museum.
